Gunmen killed a senior female member of Imran Khan's reformist Movement for Justice party outside her home in Karachi on Saturday night."
According to an account by her daughter, Zahra Shahid Hussain was in her car preparing to leave her house."
As her driver was locking the gate of her residence two men pulled up on a motorcycle.
In what was described in initial reports as a purse snatching gone wrong, the two men rushed toward 60-year-old Hussain. According to her driver, she immediately gave up her purse and wallet. One of the men then fired his weapon, killing her.
A police autopsy found Hussain sustained injuries to her chin and lower torso.
The leader of Hussain's party, former international cricket star Imran Khan, blamed the killing on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. Movement officials have denied the accusation.
