A group of hackers has claimed to have defeated the latest iPhone security fingerprint scanner.
The Berlin-based group called Chaos Computer Club, announced they had successfully hacked into an iPhone 5S on Sunday.
They are in the running to receive a $20,000 bounty offered to the first hacker to be able to crack the new iPhone.
The group posted step by step instructions online.
Once a fingerprint sample is secured, it is dusted with powder and then the powder is solidified with a superglue component.
After this, the fingerprint is clearly defined and can be photographed at a 2400 dpi resolution.
The photo is then uploaded and edited for clarity and then printed onto a transparent sheet using a heavy toner.
Once the toner is set, the fake fingerprint is covered with wood glue.
Once the wood glue is dry, it can be peeled off and will be a replica for the original fingerprint. This can then be used to open the iPhone.
