More specifically, they’ve developed a board game and now anybody wishing to get a license to drive must commit to playing it for as many as several months before their request will be approved.
It’s called The Drivers’ Way and modeled after Monopoly and Snakes and Ladders, and according to one official, it plays kind of like Scrabble.
The game is touted as being specifically beneficial to anyone over 10-years-old and those wanting to refresh their road rule knowledge.
Game pieces are modeled after vintage cars and the questions are all about driving laws.
According to officials, a lack of knowledge about the basic laws of driving in the country paired with most drivers not knowing what the signs mean are behind the majority of Sierra Leone’s accidents.
The country’s lack of traffic signals and plethora of untested drivers are also considered major challenges the country is facing in reaching its accident-reduction goal.
