There are a number of ways to get into the Halloween spirit.

A business located in Himeji, Japan is using black cats as part of a gimmick to lure customers into the establishment. Described as Japan’s first black cat café, the idea behind the joint is to have patrons come in, have coffee and play with the live and reportedly friendly felines.

An hourly fee is charged for the calming and stress reducing animal interaction. The café officially opened about two years ago. Back then it contained kitties of all different colors.

But now, it is re-opening just in time for Halloween as an exclusively black cat shop. Although many people consider this type of feline sinister and brimming with bad luck, the Japanese view them as the opposite, deeming black kitties as magical creatures.

The cats can be seen relaxing on furniture in the café, which has a comfortable, homey like atmosphere. Soft drinks along with alcohol are served at the establishment.

Customers pay approximately $10 for the first hour of black kitty play and each half hour after that goes for about $5.
