Afghan police keep watch at the site of an attack in eastern Kabul on Friday…
...launched reportedly by Taliban fighters on a convoy of vehicles near an international compound belonging to foreign forces.
There was a car bomb, then gunfire. The Taliban claimed responsibility on Twitter.
A police source said the final target was Green Village, a residence for military contractors and other international staff.
Another security source said the compound itself was not struck but that there were a number of Afghan casualties.
It's the first major attack in the capital since July.
