The Philadelphia Police Department says it is looking into an incident captured in a YouTube video that shows two men being harassed by white police officers. The video shows the two individuals being aggressively stopped and frisked in late September.
One of the individuals used his cell phone to record the interaction with the two cops. After pulling over on the side of the street, the two cops exited their vehicle. They proceeded to push one of the men up against the police car and searched him. The two men insisted that the cops had no cause to stop them, which caused the boys in blue to made hostile, racist remarks.
"Fucking dirty ass," one of the officers says. "Why don't you shut the fuck up?"
Apparently the two men were stopped because they said hi to a stranger on the street whom the cops suspected of being involved with drugs.
In the video, after the guy says he is from New Jersey, the cops tell him to go back there and never come back to Philadelphia. The individual replied that he had family in the city, which lead one of the cops to say, "Don't come over here. We don't want you here, anyway. All you do is weaken the country."
"How do I weaken the country?" the man shoots back. "By working."
"No, freeloading," replied the cop.
At one point the man explains that he is a server at a country club.
"Server? Serving weed," the cop suggested.
The Philadelphia police department's internal affairs division is now investigating the two officers caught on camera.
