My name is Brett Cadiente and the name of my company is Cadiente Plumbing. We provide all types of commercial and residential plumbing services. Everything from disposals, to faucet replacements, to water heater replacements, slab leak repairs and re-routes. And yeah, we do kind of a little bit of everything. We do emergency plumbing service as well. We do nights and weekend calls as well. So, you got a problem in the evening, we're always available, and we've always got somebody answering the phone, 24/7.

So, clogged drains, clogged sewers, sewer repairs, replacements, things like that, what people do and don't know. So, if you have what's called a main line backup, and most people don't even know what that means, but let's say you have a clogged drain in your home, people that call us would say something like, "My toilet's clogged and I've got a little bit of sewage, it's coming up through my tub or my shower as well." Okay. That's typically an indication that you have a main line backup. Typically, a main line backup will come up through your house through the lowest point. Usually, that's either a tub drain or a shower drain. And usually, it's going to be the closest point to the sewer which is going to be, typically the front of the home.

First thing you want to do in that scenario obviously, you want to call a plumber. But if you can imagine, it's going to be a lot of pressure in your sewer. If you go out to the front of your home, most typically on newer homes, and some older homes, you should be able to find some 3, 4-inch black clean-outs sticking out of the ground somewhere. Sometimes they're buried, sometimes they're not. If you can find them, great. What you want to do is there should be some clean-out caps on the top of those, you can loosen those. And you got to be careful 'cause it is pressurized. But slowly loosen that, you want to relieve the pressure in your sewer. Okay. What it's going to do is if the sewage is going to end up coming out of those pipes set up in the home. It's kinda gross, but that's something that you should try to do in the event of a backup. So, a couple of things that you might need to know about clogged drains and sewers, and things like that.
