Bomb found under Italian diplomatic car in Libyan capital Tripoli

A bomb placed underneath an Italian diplomatic car in the Libyan capital exploded after police cordoned off the area on Tuesday afternoon." According to reports, two Italian embassy officials and their driver made a few stops in two different districts in Tripoli.
According to one of the diplomats quoted by News.com.au, the explosive device was likely attached to the car in between stops.

The diplomats exited the vehicle after the driver noticed something strange underneath the car. Police were called and cordoned off the area upon arriving at the scene, Reuters reported. The bomb exploded about half an hour later injuring no one, but badly damaging the back of the car and blasting out its windows. A Foreign Ministry spokesman in Rome was quoted by Reuters saying that security would be heightened for Italian officials in Libya and the bomb plot would be investigated.
