This is video from behind the wheel of a car in Saudi Arabia. The driver- a woman- is committing a crime as it's illegal for women to drive in this country.

Video posted on social media websites this week show various woman's rights activists defying the law by driving in an attempt to bring attention to the issue. Reuters cannot independatly verify the content of this video.

Other drivers can be seen passing and giving a thumbs-up in approval.

Supporters of the law say allowing women to drive would threaten public morality by encouraging the sexes to mix freely in public.

Earlier this week a member of King Abdullah's council proposed lifting the ban.

The Council's transport committee must now decide whether to accept the recommendation and put it to the transport ministry.
