Mechanical robots are one of the fastest growing developments in technology, and they even have a place in the classroom for kids.
Sparki is the name of the latest robot from Arcbotics, a company that makes robots designed for use in schools.

Sparki can react to changes in light, write its name on a piece of paper, and carry up to 10 pounds on its back.

The robot can be programmed with an open source electronics operating system called Arduino, and comes ready to use out of the box with Bluetooth capabilities.

Kids can easily learn to operate Sparki on a computer, so they can understand how a robot’s actions are based on commands from a human using technology.

ArcBotics co-founder Joe Schlesinger said: “Our goal is to get kids who don’t really know electronics or robotics to interact with it and get them to trust in science.”

By starting a Kickstarter fund raising campaign, Arcbotics was able to create and manufacture an affordable, educational robot designed for students ages 11 and older.

Schools around the world including in Mexico and Norway will reportedly use Sparki in their classrooms.
