There haven’t been any reports of people finding foreign objects, but the company is doing it to be on the safe side.

Similarly, the company hasn’t been informed of any illnesses or adverse reactions resulting from consumption.

It’s been noted that with the government shutdown, the United States Food and Drug Administration is running with approximately 45 percent of its staff and thus is "unable to support the majority of its food safety, nutrition, and cosmetics activities."

The recall only applies to ice cream sold in specific shops throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia after October 1st.

Among them are Pennsylvania Turkey Hill Minit Marts and WalMart stores and smaller grocers and convenience markets throughout Maryland and West Virginia.

Flavors and container sizes being taken back are pint-sized Turkey Hill Moose Tracks Stuff’d Frozen Dairy Dessert and Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Premium Ice Cream.

Turkey Hill Fudge Ripple Premium Ice Cream is being recalled in the 1.5-quart size.
