During her recent trip to India, Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and the group she was with were named in a complaint potentially being filed by the Archeological Survey of India.

Supposedly the visit she and her team made to the Taj Mahal was little more than a thinly-veiled photo shoot to promote a brand of shoes.

That is strictly prohibited by the country’s Supreme Court ruling which states no commercial activity can take place on the grounds of archaeologically protected monuments.

Using the Taj Mahal in conjunction with publicity or branding is expressly forbidden.

After taking some time to tour the site, Culpo took a seat on a marble platform while the others produced a bag of shoes and cameras.

The pageant winner proceeded to try on several pairs while photographers snapped pictures of both her wearing them and the shoes perched – sans model - on a bench, catching the Taj Mahal in the background.

Among the matters being looked into is why neither the tourism police nor security personnel appeared to be doing anything to stop the prohibited activity.
