UK firm aims to market world's first malaria vaccine

British drug giant GlaxoSmithKline is to seek regulatory approval for the world's first malaria vaccine next year. In a trial, it significantly cut cases of the mosquito-borne disease in children.

Malaria kills hundreds of thousands of people a year, mainly babies in the poorest parts of sub-Saharan Africa.
