A businessman from Dallas, Texas was stabbed to death early Wednesday morning after getting into an argument with the band at Little Longhorn Saloon karaoke bar on Ao Nang beach in Krabi, Thailand.

Fifty-one-year-old Bobby Ray Carter, Jr. got into an argument with the band when he and his 27-year-old old son, Adam, refused to stop singing and leave the stage, according to USA Today. Witnesses say carter became angry when the band played 'Hotel California' instead of what he requested, and refused to step down. When the three musicians decided to take a break and leave the stage, Carter reportedly knocked over their tip box and demanded that his gratuity be returned.

Later, Carter and his son ran into the band as they left the bar, and the group once again began to argue. One of the band members, Ratikorn Romin, 27, said Carter knocked him to the ground and sat on his chest, making it difficult for him to breathe. Seeing a sharp piece of metal nearby, Romin admitted to grabbing it and stabbing Carter in the chest with it, killing him. At some point there was a scuffle and Carter's son also sustained injuries to his head.

Police arrested Romin and his two bandmates, Sathit Somsa, 40, and Nopanan Yaddecha, 26. All three contested that they did not intend to kill anyone, but police have charged them with causing death by physical attack. One of the band members was also found carrying an illegal homemade firearm.
