Stevenson man accused of blowing up dog not charged with abuse

2013-10-07 9

Christopher Dillingham, a man who lives in Stevenson, Washington, allegedly blew up his dog using a self-made explosive device on Sunday.

It was reported that Dillingham attached the explosive to the dog's neck and distracted the animal by feeding it treats. He then went behind a wall and detonated the device. His neighbours called 911 to report the loud sound made by the explosion. Dillingham was throwing out furniture from his window when officers arrived. He was arrested on the spot.

Dillingham was not charged with animal cruelty because the charge requires proof of animal suffering. The problem is his dog died instantaneously.
