40 people buried in landslide in China

A landslide has buried up to 40 people in Sichuan province, China on July 10.The landslide occurred in Zhongxing town in Dujiangyan city, one of the worst hit places in the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. It was reported that the two square kilometres wide landslide damaged at least 11 homes. Up to 40 people were buried by the landslide. Authorities have evacuated more than 200 residents from the area.

Local media reported that heavy rainfall has destroyed 300 homes in Sichuan and Yunnan province so far and about 36,800 people have been relocated.
