A man in Gothenburg, Sweden was recently hospitalized after packages of bacon toppled on top of him. In total the combined weight of the bacon was about 1,300 pounds.
The incident occurred a little after 7 am in a warehouse where the male works. A spokesman for the local police stated “I don't know exactly how it happened, but somehow the trolley fell over. I've never heard of anything like this. It's a rather unusual accident, you might say.”
The man was reportedly conscious and alert when he was transferred to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries and the amount of time he is expected to stay at the medical establishment remains unknown.
However doctors at the facility claimed he was very fortunate to have escaped the rare incident mostly unscathed. Law enforcement has filed a workplace accident report that will later be reviewed by the Swedish Work Environment Authority.
