The life of Zimbabwe's president Robert Mugabe takes center stage in New York.
"Breakfast with Mugabe" was written by British playwright Fraser Grace after reading an article about the president being severely depressed, and convinced he was haunted by a ghost.
Mugabe, who is known for his racist views towards white people, sought treatment from a white psychiatrist.
Grace says writing about the relationship was important for the play.
SOUNDBITE: Fraser Grace, playwright, saying (English):
"Someone who bitterly resents the kind of white yolk and is very resistant to turn to a white man for help. And it is a huge thing for him to overcome I think. He has to in the play because he is desperate, no one else will help him. And he has to find a way of sort of getting this thing off his back."
Mugabe has ruled Zimbabwe since its independence from Britain in 1980 and overwhelmingly won a July 31 vote extending his 33-year rule.
