Lady Gaga's new single, 'Applause', has been released ahead of its August 19 due date after the song was leaked online.
The single was released to YouTube and iTunes after low- and high- resolution versions of the song circulated on the Internet. Lady Gaga took to Twitter to call on fans to report links to the illegally-distributed single, which is the pop artist's newest work since 2011.
Lady Gaga declared a 'pop music emergency' and in an unusual move, fans responded by submitting links to Universal Music Group, the label behind the album.
