25-year-old Conor P. Fudge was reportedly caught on surveillance footage entering a creamery after hours on September 11th and 12th.
There are some people who are predisposed to having an incurable sweet tooth. That seems to be the case for one man who was busted stealing from Iowa City’s Cold Stone Creamery.
And the suspect’s name, not surprisingly, is Fudge. 25-year-old Conor P. Fudge was reportedly caught on surveillance footage entering the establishment after hours on both September 11th and 12th.
Fudge allegedly swiped money from the company safe before stealing some cakes and containers of ice cream. Security cameras were also able to catch the thefts.
Fudge previously worked at the ice cream shop but his last day of employment was listed at August 27th. According to the owner of the creamery, Fudge used an unauthorized key to gain entry.
Given that he was caught on camera and known by the owner of the business, cops didn’t have a very hard time catching up with him. Police claimed the total value of the company loss was just over $500.
Fudge has now been arrested and charged with third degree burglary and a misdemeanor count of third degree theft.
