A young boy was left in a locked car by his mother in Perak, Malaysia on August 27. It was reported that the boy was trapped inside a car parked in a parking lot in front of Hospital Fatimah.

According to local media, the boy was crying and desperately calling out for his mother from the inside the vehicle. The engine of the car was switched off and the boy could have been trapped inside for more than half an hour. The incident was reported to the authorities by passers-by. Fire and rescue teams decided not to break the window as they feared shattering the glass might harm the boy. They then slowly coaxed the boy to unlock the car door. The boy complied and was rescued.

It was reported that the mother of the boy showed up soon after he was rescued. She held him briefly and walked away after thanking the rescuers. She reportedly seemed embarrassed over the situation.
