Police in Kuala Lumpur are looking for a gang who specializes in stealing luxury cars. The gang have struck at least 37 times since the beginning of the year.

City police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh said investigations were underway to track the gang down.

According to local reports, the gang works in groups of two or four people. They drive around the city at night looking for the right target and the right location. Once they locate a luxury car they want to steal, they ram into it.

As soon as the victim gets out of the car to check the damage, one of the suspects drives away with the victim's car. The other suspect threatens the victim, often with a parang, before driving away.

According to local reports, in all 37 cases the victims were unharmed.

Police have now released photo-fits of the eight suspects believed to be members of the gang.
