Man Steals Ambulance With Hospital-Bound Patient Still Inside

One man from Florida has been arrested after he allegedly carjacked an ambulance with a hospital-bound patient inside.

It’s not advisable to steal an ambulance… and that’s if the emergency vehicle is empty. A man has been has been arrested after he allegedly carjacked an ambulance with a hospital-bound patient inside.

The troubling incident occurred in Philadelphia. The suspect, 25-year-old Brian Timothy Kada Jr. reportedly walked across a busy expressway at around 3 pm on a Friday.

He approached the emergency vehicle and pointed a firearm at the responders while they were stuck in rush hour traffic. Kada was able to sneak into the ambulance through the passenger side door.

After terrifying and threatening the medical technicians who managed to escape, he got behind the wheel and took off with the patient inside the ambulance. An eye witness to the disturbing scene stated “It was pretty scary. He was weaving in and out of traffic, on a blowout tire riding on that rim. I thought he was going to flip over.”

Kada drove westbound until the vehicle became disabled. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

Luckily police were able to catch up to him. Kada was charged with Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, assault and kidnapping. A second ambulance was called in to transport the patient, but no other injuries were reported resulting from the carjacking.
