A limited number of the soon-to-be released, newly designed $100 bills have the potential to be worth a lot more than their face values.

Despite a setback involving the over-inking of some 100-dollar bills, the release of the newly designed Benjamins remains on-schedule for October 8th.

According to many currency collectors, when it comes to an issuing of this magnitude, not all bills are created equal.

A limited number of them have the potential to be worth a lot more than their face values.

People wanting to turn their new hundreds into thousands may be interested to know what the seasoned investors and hobbyists most look for.

Reported to be at the top of their lists are unique serial numbers.

Those in the know call certain sequences “fancies” because of their dazzling digits.

The most spectacular of them is a bill numbered as the first of the design. That would be 7 zeroes followed by a 1.

Get a hold of one of those and your hundred-dollar bill could get you up to 15 grand.

Other fancies start at about a thousand a piece.

Those include 8 digit serials that feature one repeating number, sequential numbers, or mirrored groups.

FYI, in the biz they respectively call those solids, ladders, and radars.
