China only allows just a few Hollywood movies to be released there every year, so it's a rare sight to have Hollywood A-listers walking a red carpet. When it opens in 2017, the motion picture city will contain 20 sound stages, a massive convention and exhibition complex, a sprawling shopping mall with an indoor amusement park and seven resort hotels.
It's the brainchild of China's richest man, property developer Wang Jianlin, who has great hopes for Hollywood in China.
