Iran will never build nuclear weapons according to the country's new President Hassan Rohani.
In an interview broadcast on US network NBC he said he had full authority to negotiate with the West over Tehran's controversial uranium enrichment programme.
He went on to describe a recent letter sent to him by US President Barack Obama as "positive and constructive".
