A CNBC report published some comparison statistics including that the 2 trillion dollars is more than the combined net worth of half the people in America.
The amount is also higher than the separate gross domestic product, or GDP of Italy, Mexico and Canada, and is equal to the estimated size of the underground economy, or black market in the US.
Forbes 400 members have an average net worth of 5 billion dollars, which is also higher than ever before.
The average age of people in the Forbes 400 list is 66, with only 32 of the people at age 48 or younger.
At the top of the list is Bill Gates, who is worth a reported 72 billion dollars, followed by Warren Buffet, at 58 and a half billion.
