Former High School Musical star Zac Efron secretly completed a stint in rehab for a serious cocaine addiction five months ago, according to a report by TMZ.
In a bid to apparently hide his coke habit, sources close to the star initially revealed he had spent time in rehab, and insinuated he had been treated for a drinking problem.
Turns out though, according to sources cited by the entertainment website, the former squeaky clean Disney star is apparently hiding a far more serious problem: a raging addiction to nose powder.
The 25-year-old actor's cocaine addiction allegedly came to a head during filming of Seth Rogen's yet-to-be released Neighbors around April. Sources familiar with the matter say cast and crew were well aware of his struggles.
"Sources tell us Zac — who also starred in the movie — was a no-show on a number of days," wrote TMZ. "As one source connected with the film tells us, 'It was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine.'"
According to the report, Efron and some of his friends went on a coke rager in Las Vegas' MGM Grand earlier this year while staying at one of the hotel's sleek two-story lofts. The group went on a bender that put The Hangover crew to shame, causing roughly $50,000 in damages.
The teenybopper heartthrob's drug habits allegedly extended further than a mere love of the white stuff, though.
"Three other sources confirm ... Zac's problem was rooted in cocaine, but say he also dabbled in Molly — a pure form of Ecstasy, and a popular drug in clubs and raves," wrote TMZ.
Worried fans will no doubt be happy to hear, though, that Zac's problems appear to be behind him. Appearing at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere for his upcoming film Parkland, Zac confirmed to E!, "I'm good, real good."
