Katy Perry is the newest target of the animal rights organization, PETA. The singer has been publicly criticized because of her new single called ‘Roar’.

Katy Perry has a reputation for being a little over-the-top. That quality makes her stand out as a performer, but it can also attract controversy.

Perry is the newest target of the animal rights organization, PETA. The singer has been publicly criticized because of the video for her new single called ‘Roar’.

According to PETA authorities, the exotic animals used in the music video were most likely abused. The company that is believed to have supplied those animals reportedly has a poor track record when it comes to taking care of the mammals.

The business had been inspected by the US Department of Agriculture more than 20 times since 2001. According to a PETA spokesperson “Animals used for entertainment endure horrific cruelty and suffer from extreme confinement and violent training methods. They often become stressed and anxious when hauled around and forced into unfamiliar or frightening situations.”

The music video itself features nothing negative or controversial. Perry can be seen contently hanging out with monkeys, tigers and elephants.

Perry was previously on PETA’s good side as she received praise for her vegetarian lifestyle with her ex-husband, Russell Brand.
