Field of Sunflowers

2013-09-15 3

The sunflower got its name because its flowers resemble the sun, and they also turn on their stems to follow the sun throughout the day. Sunflower seeds are used as a nutritious snack, for sprouting, for bird seed, to make cooking oil, medicine, and for animal feed. Sunflower oil is also used for biodiesel fuel and the sunflower plant is used to clean toxins from the environment.
