Talks in Geneva between the U.S and Russia over destroying Syria's chemical weapons are at a "pivotal point."
That's according to a U.S. official speaking on condition of anonymity.
President Barack Obama, after meeting with Kuwait's Amir, said he hoped negotiations will succeed but the White House is said to remain skeptical.
SOUNDBITE: U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING:
"I shared with the Amir my hope that the negotiations that are currently taking place between Secretary of State Kerry and Foreign Minister Lavrov in Geneva bear fruit…But I repeated what I've said publicly, which is any agreement needs to be verifiable and enforceable."
Meanwhile, utter frustration from United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon.
He told an audience on Friday that the U.N. Security Council is totally divided over Syria, which the West blames for a chemical weapons attack that killed scores of civilians.
