Coca-Cola Japan has created a new hot drink to cater to those looking for something that’s carbonated but not chilled. Called “hot” Canada Dry Ginger Ale, it comes in a can form.
The drink will be released in the country on October 21st for a little over a dollar per can. The packaging can certainly be described as seasonal.
It’s red and deep gold colors not only make it stand out, they strike a decidedly autumnal mood. It took the company approximately 4 years to develop as the cans have a special form of technology that allows the drink to stay carbonated while it heats up.
An exothermic reaction causes the can to self-heat and amazingly no carbonation is lost during this process. The hot beverage is flavored with apple, cinnamon and ginger extract.
According to Coca-Cola, spiced hot drinks are extremely popular in Japan during the colder months.
What do you think of this new drink? Would you want to try it?
