Losing a loved one is never easy, especially when that person leaves too soon.
A Georgian family has preserved a 22-year-old man’s body in alcohol for the past 18 years.
At the time of the man, named Joni’s death, he had a two-year-old son. The parents of the deceased male decided to preserve the body rather than to bury it so the then toddler would have a chance to see his father.
For four years, the parents used balsam to keep the body in pristine condition, however the mother decided to switch to her own unique method. She claimed to have a dream in which she was told to ‘treat Joni with rubbing alcohol’.
Since she woke up from the bizarre dream, she has been using wet sheets dipped in rubbing alcohol to preserve her son’s body.
Up until a few years ago, she changed his clothes on his birthday. She explains the radical decision to avoid burying the man stating “He wanted his kid to see him that way. I believe from that point on the kid started to love his father."
