A skyscraper in London, known as the Walkie-Talkie because of its shape, has reportedly melted the interior of a car by reflecting light from the sun.
One man’s Jaguar was damaged after he left it parked on the street in London for around two hours.
When he came back, there was a photographer taking pictures of his damaged car, along with a note from the construction company asking him to get in touch with them to sort out the costs of the damage.
The light, reflected off of the building that is still under construction, melted the car’s rearview mirror, plastic panels, and the Jaguar hood ornament.
The developers released a statement saying: “We are aware of concerns regarding the light reflecting from 20 Fenchurch Street and are looking into the matter. As a precautionary measure, the City of London has agreed to suspend three parking bays in the area which may be affected while we investigate the situation further.”
The development companies responsible for the project have apologized and reportedly paid an estimated 15 hundred dollars to repair the damage done to the man’s Jaguar.
