According to a new survey done by Visa Inc., the amount of money that the Tooth Fairy’s been leaving has been steadily increasing.
The survey found that the average amount children receive for each tooth is 3 dollars and 70 cents, up seventy cents from last year, and more than a dollar over the 2011 average of 2 dollars and 60 cents.
Kids have 20 baby teeth, so if you do the math on the average amount left for each tooth, that adds up to 74 dollars, which is quite a bit of money to a small child.
The survey showed that 6 percent of parents give their kids over 20 dollars per tooth, and 2 percent of parental respondents said they paid 50 dollars or more for one tooth.
