European men are getting taller - that's the finding of data collected on hundreds of thousands of men since the 1870s.
In Britain the average height at age 21 has risen from 167 cm to 177 cm.
Genes, better nutrition, medical advances and improvements in sanitation are all thought to have contributed to the rise in height.
Women were not included due to lack of historical data.
