Rosy Pastor or Starling in Rajasthan

2013-08-31 51

Hordes of Rosy Pastor or Starlings start migrating to south India in the fall/autumn, after having bred in Central Asia. They move as per the swarms of locusts. About now they start moving towards their wintering grounds in South India. The sighting above, in middle August, was one of our first ones for this season, at Sonkhaliya, Rajasthan.
