Interstate 69 in Anderson, Indiana recently became the scene of a gruesome and utterly horrific incident. A 29-year-old man, Earl Morgan III was left in critical condition after he reportedly attempted to commit suicide on the highway by using a power drill.

Morgan was transported to a nearby hospital, but upon arrival, he was flown by helicopter to another local facility that was better equipped to handle the extensive injuries.

Despite the life saving efforts by emergency crews, Morgan is not expected to survive. Police were alerted something was horribly wrong after a witness called to report seeing a Chevrolet sedan drive into a guard rail.

The caller claimed the vehicle came to a full stop and the driver got out and walked towards the trunk, which is where he pulled out the power drill. Morgan reportedly used the tool to drill his own head from behind his ear.

The disturbing ordeal occurred at 10:30 in the morning, in complete view of passing motorists.

Morgan had recently moved to Indianapolis from Michigan. However, little else is known about him, including his motives for the attempted suicide. Police are currently investigating the reasoning behind the bizarre act.
