The nation is still seething with anger over the gangrape of a 22-year-old girl in Mumbai, but Maharashtra's apex women's body has been completely ignored. The Maharashtra Women's Commission has been functioning without a chairperson for the last four years and with three other positions still vacant, the question being raised is whether this is the protection that the state has promised to its women.
