A sign posted in California's iconic Yosemite National Park tells visitors which parts are closed due to wildfires.
The so called Rim fire has destroyed more than 12,000 acres of the park since it began a few weeks ago, and that number is rising.
Firefighters have been cutting shrubs and trees to try and stop the advancing flames... but harsh terrain is making that difficult.
The fire is only five percent contained.
Because of increasingly strained resources, last week U.S. wildfire managers opened talks with the Pentagon about possible reinforcements.
