The cop, who works in Henan province, had been out with friends last month. The group was on their way to a karaoke bar.
The off-duty officer reportedly noticed a couple with their young baby. Not believing the child was real, the cop bet his buddies that the infant was actually a doll.
The policeman allegedly approached the couple and touched the female baby’s face before snatching her from the father’s hold and violently tossing her to the ground. The only bright side to the report was that the 7-month-old infant survived the ordeal, however she did encounter a fractured skull.
It is believed the officer was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Initially he faced a 15 day disciplinary punishment, however a proper investigation was launched after social media users publicly expressed anger and outrage.
The cop has since been placed under criminal detention at a nearby facility.
