Monsoon rains combined with a tropical storm have caused floods and landslides in the Philippine capital, Manila. At least eight people have been reported killed.
Schools and government offices have shut for two consecutive days. Financial markets and most banks and private companies also closed as a month of rain fell in just 24 hours. Several flights have also been cancelled.
