As many as 24 police officers have been killed in an ambush in Egypt's Sinai peninsula.
Authorities say the victims were on board two buses, which came under attack from a group of armed men close to the Rafah border crossing with Gaza.
Egyptian security forces have come under repeated attacks in the area since the fall of Hosni Mubarak in 2011.
