Grasslands of Shokhalia have been green and grassy since the monsoon. Cattle have been brought out by the locals to graze on the grass. The Indian Monsoon changes the complete look of the area and cattles of all kinds are seen grazing alongwith kids acting as their shepherds.
At Shonkhalia in Ajmer district of Rajasthan, the monsoon has played its cards well. The fields and adjoining low lying areas have been flooded with the rainwater. Shonkhalia is famous for its bird sightings of the endangered Great Indian Bustard and the Lesser Florican. Dry state of Rajasthan holds up a completely new, fresh and wet look in the monsoon.
A Monsoon of the Indian subcontinent is among several geographically distributed observations of global monsoon taking place in the Indian subcontinent. In the subcontinent, it is one of oldest weather observations, an economically important weather pattern and the most anticipated weather event and unique weather phenomenon. Yet it is only partially understood and notoriously difficult to predict. Several theories have been proposed explaining the origin, the process, the strength, the variability, the distribution and the general vagaries of the monsoon of the Indian subcontinent, but understanding of the phenomenon and its predictability are still evolving.
