There's not too much out there that screams luxury like an expensive watch. The New Orleans police department is now on the hunt for a suspect who allegedly stole two Rolex watches valued at roughly 75 grand.
Investigators have released a surveillance photo of the man that swiped the expensive pieces.
The male in question reportedly walked into the Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry store located on Canal Street. He told a store employee he was considering giving a Rolex watch as a gift.
As the worker was showing him timepieces from the display, the suspect asked to compare two watches side by side. Once both pieces were handed over, the man secured one on each wrist and abruptly took off on foot.
The owner of the shop, Jack Sutton stated “I actually ran after him, which I don't know was such a good idea, but my adrenaline was so pumped up I just took off after him hoping to find a policeman.”
However the thief was able to get away. Sutton is hoping that the fingerprints along with the clear surveillance footage will help police catch the suspect.
