This is the first movement of my Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 102. I created a video that depicts images and feelings from my childhood growing up in San Benancio Canyon. Situated between Monterey and Salinas, and the oaks, poppies, lupines, and chaparral, and everything about those hills are a deep inspiration – and a treasured place I escape to, both literally and in my mind.
