What are the leading causes of truck crashes? Level of Training
One of the factors we find to be a common contributor to truck crashes is the level of training a trucking company gives it's drivers before they allow them to climb behind the wheel of an eighty thousand pound truck.
You'll see trucking schools, you'll see driver training schools, but the responsibilities of the trucking companies don't end there.
Once you have your commercial drivers license you still have an obligation and the trucking company you work for still has an obligation to continually train you on driver fatigue issues, on equipment limit issues, how
the trucks function, how well they function, many of the different issues having to do with piloting an eighty thousand pound truck at sixty five miles an hour down our nations highways.
Unfortunately many trucking companies in our experience don't take that responsibility to continually train their drivers very seriously. Often times we see there aren't consistent safety meetings, there aren't continued
training meetings to refresh these drivers to make sure they understand what their obligations are behind the wheel.
