Thieves stole a significant amount of computer equipment from the San Bernadino Sexual Assault Services Center, only to return it later.

The charity’s director received a call one evening from her alarm company saying that they were detecting a significant amount of activity in the center.

By the time she and the police arrived, the computers and a bag of valuables were gone and most of the office’s wiring had been cut.

The robbers had apparently come through the roof and entered the offices via a utility closet.

Looking for information, police reached out to area’s transient population, many of whom the center had helped over the years.

They said that they would be on alert for any news regarding the heist.

Hours later the director received a call from the police informing her that suspicious activity was again underway outside of the center.

When she got there, she discovered a shopping cart parked in front that contained every stolen item.

Along with it was an apology note that read, “…We hope that you guys can continue to make a difference in people’s lives. God bless.”
