We were contacted by U.S brand Niche Snowboards to produce, direct and film a short video about how their snowboards are made at the GST plant located in Antiesenhofen, Austria. Environmental and ethical attitudes are extremely important to Niche, and the decision to produce their boards at GST reflects this.
GST prides itself on it’s environmental record, sourcing 90% of it’s snowboard manufacturing material in Austria and recycling much of the resource used during manufacture (such as water). Harmful solvents are kept to a minimum by using special UV lacquers and colours, unique to snowboards produced at the plant. As well as this, GST have the lowest warranty return rate in the world, an with average of just 0.3 – 0.4% of their output. Niche Snowboards are CNC made but hand finished, providing the customer with the best product in terms of technical performance, with the added bonus of the human element.
