We had earlier reported that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) was upset with the reports of Chennai Express demanding prime slots at single screen cinemas in Maharashtra, at the expense of Marathi movies however, now MNS chief Raj Thackeray has given the film a green signal.

MNS Chitrapat Sena had threatened to disrupt the film's release, as by taking the prime slot, the Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer attempted to dislodge popular Marathi film Duniyadari.

Reportedly, on Thursday, Chennai Express director Rohit Shetty and Sanjay Jadhav, who has helmed Duniyadari, met Thackeray and after listening to both of them, the MNS chief said that if Duniyadari will not be removed from single screens across the state, then MNS won't object to the release and run of Chennai Express. Both the parties have agreed to this suggestion.
Chennai Express is all set to arrive in theaters near you on August 9.
